How it actually works

Most people never find the two best parts — editing a portfolio right on the page, and the roast. Here's all three, in the order that works.

Step 1

Pick a resume template and edit it

Your resume lives in one place — the master resume. Templates are just different ways of printing it, so switching template never makes you retype anything.

  1. Browse and filter

Open Templates and narrow by style, experience level or industry. Every one of the 41 is single-column and ATS-safe unless the card says otherwise.

    Look for Templates
  2. Preview before you commit

Hit Preview on any card to see the real PDF, not a picture of one. If you've already built your master resume, flip the toggle to My data and the same PDF re-renders with your own details.

Look for Preview → My data
  3. Fill your master resume

Use this template takes you to the editor with that template remembered. Fill the sections down the page — name, experience, education, skills. AI suggestions appear on the right as you type.

    Look for Use this template
  4. Edit any time, download any time

The master resume is always editable at /resume. Change a bullet there and every future download and every tailored version picks it up — you never edit a template, you edit your resume.

    Look for PDF · DOCX
  5. Tailor it for a specific job

Paste a job description in Tailor and we rewrite your bullets for that role, then score the result. Each tailored version keeps its own template and download.

    Look for Tailor with this

The bit people get wrong: Editing happens in the master resume, never in the template. If a change isn't showing up, you're probably looking at an older tailored version — open /resume, edit, save.

Browse templates

Free includes 13 templates with a small watermark line at the foot of the page. Pro unlocks 34 and removes the watermark; Premium unlocks all 41.

Step 2

Turn the same resume into a website

A web portfolio is your resume as an animated personal site you can send as a link. It's built from the same master resume, so there's nothing extra to write.

  2. Open it with your data

Open & Edit renders the site from your master resume in a new tab, with a small floating toolbar at the bottom.

    Look for Open & Edit
  3. Edit text straight on the page

Click Edit in that toolbar (or just press E) and the text becomes editable where it sits — click a heading, retype it, click away. Press Escape or hit Edit again to stop.

    Look for Edit
  4. Add your photo and project shots

Photo sets your profile picture. Click any picture slot in the page to add a project screenshot or a certificate. Images are compressed in your browser first, then saved to your account, so they follow you to any device.

    Look for Photo
  5. Download a single file and host it free

Download from the toolbar saves one self-contained .html file with every image baked in. Drag it onto Netlify Drop and you have a live link in about a minute. Print saves the same page as a PDF instead.

    Look for Download · Print

The bit people get wrong: There are two Download buttons and they aren't the same. The one in the floating toolbar saves what you see, including text you retyped. The one on the gallery card re-renders fresh from your master resume — images included, retyped text not. Typed edits live in the browser you made them in, so download from that same browser.

Open portfolios

Free lets you open 2 designs with your own data, Pro 22, and Premium all 36 including the 3D and interactive ones. Previews stay free at every plan.

  2. Read the damage

You get a one-line verdict, the specific burns, a straight 'real talk' paragraph, a numbered list of what to fix, and a score out of 10.

  3. Fix what it found

Every burn maps to something you can change. Take the fix list into your master resume, apply it, then run the ATS check to see the score move.

    Look for ATS Score Checker
  4. Share it if you're brave

Sign in and consent, and we save a public link with its own share card for WhatsApp, LinkedIn or X. Your personal details are stripped out before anything is stored.

Completely free, signed in or not. Sharing needs an account only because a public link has to belong to someone.

Still stuck on something?

Start with the roast — it takes one paste, costs nothing, and tells you exactly which part of your resume to fix first. Everything else follows from there.
